How do you do reserach if you have never been? The neon lights of the Strip are fantastic from sunset to sunrise. No two casinos have the same lighting. The huge light from the top of Luxor can be see by planes landing at LAX. The lights of the Strip also include the markees. The fountains at Caesars and those at Mandalay Bay are beautiful though others have smaller versions like Paris. And the costumes, well the only showgirl show left is Jubilee and nothing compares to those costumes with headresses that weight thirty or more pounds, topless ladies or minimal outfits. But the costumes at the six cirque shows are fantastic.
The tourist area of the famous Las Vegas Strip is an adult fantasy land where a person can pretend to be anything they want, gamble/drink/party or just enjoy the eye candy. But away from the tourist area of Strip and Downtown is a regular city with people who have standards jobs not involving the gaming industry, attend church, shop at malls, go to movies or bowl, visit the library or parks, horseback ride, jog, go to the gym, ride bikes.
The people who are most amored by the lights of Vega$ are the visitors who come from around the world where such glamour is non-existent.

Las Vegas has replicated some things you see. They have their own "Eiffel tower", and they have a mini Statue of Liberty. The hotels really try to drive people in. In the hotel Treasure Island, they have a show right outside of the hotel that anyone can see. Its public and free. Its about pirates, and they set off a firecracker at some point. Whenever the show takes place, it is really crowded right outside of the hotel.
They also have a display at The Mirage. They try to replicate a volcano right in front of the hotel. Just like the display in Treasure Island, it is public and perfectly free.
In Circus Circus hotel, they have circus acts every fifteen minutes or something. The acts are pretty short though.
