Homedics Fountain: Lights up but no water is moving through...?
I have a small homedics Fountain. It hasnt been used in more than a year. I dug it out of my closet cleaned it out, filled it up with water and plugged it in. It lights up but does not push water through. I actually don't hear anything running down below but I dont think I ever did hear anything running before like it was super quiet.

Does anyone have experience with these fountains. Do they take awhile to warm up and start moving water when sitting for a period of time not on? Or should I just assume that the pump is dead?

If it has lots of mineral deposits on the motor, it may not run. Before discarding it, you could try soaking it for several days in diluted clorox or vinegar to see if that loosens the mineral deposits. Do so in a ventilated area away from anywhere that children or pets could get into.
