What would you do with this pond if it was in your front yard? -need lots of feedback?
I bought a house recently near Phoenix, AZ, and it came with this unfinished pond and really ugly waterfall:

Come on people I need lots of feedback and ideas.
would you finish it and fix the waterfal?
Would you take it out?
Plant something else?
change into a water fountain?
bird bath?
any other ideas.

I keep looking at it and looking at it and it just gets uglier.
Take it out...take it ALL out. I think dead grass would look better!
I moved to Phoenix in 1970. The first thing that impressed me were the beautiful desert flowers along the highway.
How about planting some of those where the "fountain" is? You shouldn't have any problem finding appropriate plantings :)
I love the house! Do you want to adopt me and hubby? LOL LOL LOL!
Best to you.

I would keep the pond, but get rid of the water fall effect. I think it is too tall and detracts from the front of the house. With lots of water plants and of course fish it would add to the curb appeal and less upkeep. Looks like you will have to put a liner in the pond. This fabric can be bought at the home improvement store. To save money, knock the water fall portion down and fill the bed with colorful flowers, with vines along the edges that will eventually cover the stones. Good luck.
AS MUCH AS I LOVE PONDS THIS ONE IS HARD TO LOVE ,I KNOW YOU OVER ALL HOUSE WOULD LOOK BETTER IF YOU TOOK IT OUT .THE ONLY WAY IT WILL LOOK GOOD WOULD BE TO TAKE OUT THE WATERFALL AND TAKE THE SIDES DOWN TO JUST ABOVE GROUND LEVEL. YOU COULD USE A FOUNTAN INSTEAD OF THE WATERFALL. I WOULD USE LARGER FLATTER ROCKS AROUND THE TOP TO BLEND IN WITH THE GROUND AND USE A LOT OF PLANTS TO BLEND IT ALL IN WITH THE YARD,NOTHING BIG ,LOW GROWING EVERGREENS.
