I'm building a Moroccan themed "courtyard"(it's actually an enclosed patio) at my home. Any idea
I have a contractor willing to do anything. Already we have a fountain planned. I'd like it to resemble the internal courtyards one sees in Morroco. We also plan on putting in some type of stone mosaic on the ground, though I'm not sure what a good pattern would be. Any creative ideas would really help!

ck out diynetwork.com &&& hgtv.com i believe they have done some on their shows
As far as the contractor goes...maybe he could add a nice fire pit if you have the wall space and a stone corner seat , drape it with some type of moroccan fabric.
Dim lighting , maybe some twinkle lights or lanterns in tall plants.
If you could find a glass top table...attach some twinkle lights to the underside and cover the table with a semi-sheer fabric for a nice glow.
Again , wall space permitting...a huge moroccan tapestry behind a seating area would look nice.
Here is a site with some nice stuff.

There are pictures here of Moroccan fountains, but you can also see tiles, and other decor. It's a store but the pictures should be helpful. I also have pictures of a courtyard from an old but beautiful house in the north of Morocco. If you email me (there is a link on my profile) and provide me with your email address, I can send them to you.
